Deep Dish – Photo 52 Project [Week 49]

After two days of hard work in the city of broad shoulders, Jesse and I could use a pizza recharge. On Friday and Saturday we were working late at a client site so we had Sunday to enjoy the city. Gino’s East has always been our Chicago pizza establishment of choice. They let you write on the walls with markers and sometimes they even have white out bottles for you. My gamer handle is buried on one of these walls from a few years back.

Our customer has a lot of work for us and I will be returning within a week. Hopefully I will be well enough. Mari Ann is upstairs now, sick with a stomach bug. She was visiting her parents while playing with the day care kids. Slowly but surely, the kids, then her Dad, then her Mom started the trow up. I thought maybe she missed it until I got a text from her at class that she was not feeling well. I hope she gets better soon.

Skyline – Photo 52 Project [Week 41]

I have been going to Chicago a lot more than usual lately so I had to take advantage of that for my photo 52 project. My deadline for getting my picture for the week is every Monday and published by Friday. I drove up instead of taking the train and unexpectedly found myself working until about 10pm. Having only 2 hours to get a shot, I had to think fast. Earlier in the day, I had to stop at a Best Buy to get some DVD-Rs (don’t judge me) and parked in a free garage. I am always up for free parking in Chicago so I couldn’t help but make a mental note.

I drove to the top of the garage, and I had a pretty decent vantage point. Of course when I don’t bring a tripod I would end up needing it. It was not a big deal though, I just  steadied the camera on the ledge and it seemed to work pretty well. Apparently there is also a yoga studio on the top of the garage and I think I looked like a little creepy with my big camera up there. Wouldn’t be the first time I guess.

I am just tonight getting around to editing because my parents were kind enough to give us some furniture they no longer wanted. I can’t say no to free stuff so I was busy getting it all moved in this week. On top of that, we are giving away some of our own stuff we no longer need so it has been a busy week.

Green Dragon – Photo 52 Project [Week 40]

Back in Chicago again. It was not hot but muggy as all hell. I walked around for hours looking for something to shoot. The sky way white an that made any skyline or lake shots a no go for me. Instead, I just walked around and took pictures of anything that looked interesting. While going under a bridge I found this graffiti. It looked so clean I got the impression that is was commissioned officially but I really don’t know for sure. They covered the Blackhawks, Bears, Bulls, and Cubs in this mural.
